Advancing People are working closely with a National Charity who are looking to appoint a part time Life Skills Coach - Children, to be based in Bedford.

This rarely available part time role will involve working 22.5 hours per week over 3 days, travelling frequently between two sites within Bedfordshire.

You must have access to your own vehicle as this role will involve regular travel.

Working with children under 17 years old in the North and South of Bedfordshire you will be working within projects in order to assess and provide coaching and support in order to help these children settle and establish a healthy routine.

This varied and hands on part time role will involve dealing with vulnerable clients, you will be an essential part of their rehabilitation, repairing and developing relationships and their wellbeing that may have been affected, as a result of domestic abuse or troubled childhoods to date.

After conducting initial individual assessments at the beginning of each programme you will agree bespoke aims for each child, how these will be achieved and recorded moving forward.

You will be delivering regular training and workshops based on the skills needed in order to resettle independently in the community; this can be focused on anything from managing finances to cooking and personal wellbeing.

Leading group and 1 to 1 sessions you will be working closely with colleagues internally and externally including refuge coaches and support workers - experience of working in a similar role is desirable.

This is a vital part time role for my client; you can really make a difference to their clients.

Forging close working relationships with external parties such as children's services whilst adhering to safeguarding procedures at all times will be key.

To be considered for this role you will need to have experience of the following:

  • Planning and organising training for vulnerable people/ children
  • Working with families and individuals impacted by abuse
  • Dealing with a issues faced by people from a varied background
  • Helping vulnerable people in order to manage their needs and become independent
  • Identifying peoples strengths and developing their life skills and routine


Basic Salary of up to £15,000 - working 22.5 hours per week over 3 days.
