Job Description

Are you a proven IT Applications Support Leader with the ability to work in a hybrid role or are you someone with strong leadership skills that is looking for the next step to manage your own team?

Working in Bedford for 2-3 days per week and being home based for the rest of the week?

If so, our International client could have the perfect IT Applications Support Leader role for you!

This fantastic permanent role is paying a basic salary of £55,000 plus bonus, numerous benefits as well as offering genuine career opportunities.

**Our client will also consider candidates with service desk support experience that can demonstrate fantastic communication and leadership skills**

The Role:

You will be delivering high quality Business Support for bespoke applications via the IT Service Desk, for over 900 systems users and team members across the business, whilst prioritising any incidents and an urgent tasks and assigning specialist teams as needed.

This role will have the responsibility for leading a team of 4, monitoring systems and general systems maintenance.

More detail on the role:

  • Provide application support to the team in the form of mentoring colleagues, detailing processes and proactively sharing solutions where possible
  • Support the team and the business through handling issues and business as usual changes alongside service desk calls, by partnering with end users and IT functions within agreed timeframes.
  • Management of workload from varying directions
  • Ensure known errors are detailed, kept up to date and communicated where relevant
  • Maintain system documentation as the need arises
  • Managing changing priorities by partnering with end users and IT functions within agreed timeframes
  • Supporting colleagues in System Access reviews

The Person:

You will be an excellent communicator, outstanding problem solver and can bring an ability to proactively identify resolutions! You will also have the capability to manage shifting and contending priorities ensuring that users are continuously kept up to date with developments.

  • Experience of Insurance Broking systems Global XB and Sector desirable but not essential
  • Experience of Sales Force will be advantageous but not essential
  • A proven background of providing either applications or service desk support
  • Knowledge of business systems change processes
  • Initiative to know when issues/incidents are to be shared for higher awareness
  • Understanding of the business areas supported
  • 'Can do' and positive demeanour
  • Knowledge of Insurance is desirable but not essential
